Water Test Kits

The prestigious Watercheck™ Test Kit from National Test Laboratories, LTD.

As a service to our customers, we offer at a reduced price the highly respected Watercheck™ comprehensive water test from National Test Laboratories, LTD. (Please see accreditation and certification details on NTL's website.)

The Watercheck test looks at 75 separate water issues, including bacteria (presence/absence for coliform and E.coli), fifteen heavy metals and minerals, five other inorganic chemicals, five physical characteristics, four trihalomethanes and forty-four volatile organic chemicals.

The test not only includes the most prevalent chemical contaminants of wells, but it also furnishes all the standard tests needed for treatment of common well water problems: pH, TDS (total dissolved solids), alkalinity, turbidity, hardness, iron, manganese. It also includes a test for coliform bacteria, and, if found, a test for E coli. There are also tests for arsenic, fluoride, lead and other poisons. (See a Sample Report for a complete list of contaminants and water characteristics that are tested.) (Note that MTBE, the gasoline additive that's been in the news, is included.)

We recommend this test strongly for anyone who has a well. (City water customers can, in most instances, get most of the information they need from their municipal water supplier.)

This is not a home test kit. Testing is done by certified laboratory scientists, but it's up to you to collect the samples according to instructions and overnight them to National Test Laboratories.

Here's how it works. You place an order for the test kit from us and we ship you the kit via UPS ground. You read the instructions, take the samples according to instructions, and mail them overnight to NTL in the shipping container provided. Within a few days you will receive a detailed test report. (See Sample Report.) We also receive a copy of your report, so if you'd like us to help with interpretation or to discuss whether or not treatment is needed we have a copy of your report.

The kit that you receive from us includes clear, detailed instructions, a freezer pack to assure that a fresh sample arrives at the laboratory, everything you need to collect the samples, data forms, and the shipping container for sending your samples to the lab.

There is also an upgrade called Watercheck with Pesticides that adds tests for an additional check for (20) pesticides, herbicides and PCB’s.

Note: We pay shipping on the test kit from us to you. You, however, will have an overnight shipping charge when you forward the samples to National Testing Laboratories.
