The basic format used on all our In/Out units

Basic In/Out Filter. Water enters one side and comes out the other. The head has no backwash feature.

Except for upflow calcite filters, which require a dome hole tank, our in/out units use the high performance Vortech mineral tank.

Our Basic In/Out Filter with the Optional Bypass Installed. Viewed from the top. A standard downflow filter can be converted to upflow simply by running the water backward through it. The upflow pattern is very useful for certain filter styles (ScaleNet conditioners and Calcite filters, for example.)

The 1" elbow adapters (shown in the illustration attached to the bypass valve and pointed downward) are standard equipment on all In/Out units. With the elbows installed, the installer's connection is to a 1" male pipe thread.
